1. Giving grace to people…What all gives grace? Obviously the things we talked about last week. (By the way a verse that’s applicable to last week would have been Ecc 12:10-11). But what one other thing gives grace as well? Telling man of their sin… But do you see how giving grace in telling man of their sin must also be done with grace. What unfortunately is some peoples’ reaction to being told of their sin?

2. How do we grieve the Holy Spirit? Could this mean grieving the Holy Spirit in others as well? What does it mean to grieve the Holy Spirit? What is the result of grieving the Holy Spirit? See Is 63:10 also. What does this mean? Is this the same kind of thing implied here? See 1 Thess 5:19. What else grieves the Holy Spirit?

3. What are some other things that you can do to the Holy Spirit? Note the following things you can do to the Holy Spirit: Acts 5:9, Acts 7:51, Heb 10:29 and Matt 12:31-32.

Teacher’s note: Tested Acts 5:9, resisted Acts 7:51, insulted Heb 10:29 and blasphemed Matt 12:31-32.

4. What does “sealed by the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption” mean? Can we become unsealed? Is this a ‘post-acceptance of Christ’ action? What is the day of redemption? Are you sure that’s the answer? See Eph 1:13-14, Rom 8:23 and I Corr 1:30 does this change any of your previous answers? What about Ps. 51:11? Is Paul saying that we should avoid sin to keep our salvation? Who secures our salvation?
